WELCOME TO HOOKED!

Let's get "hooked together", my friends!

I have begun this blog because I have so many friends who are involved in crocheting, knitting, tatting, rug hooking - all kinds of yummy things to do with using yarn, threads and ribbons.  I wanted a watering hole (so to speak) were we could meet up and share projects, passions and purposes!

Below is my first posting project.  It has led me to more projects and, well, you know how it goes!  I spent years making sweaters, then doilies and antimacassars, with a couple of memory throw blankets for my children.  Over the years I have taught crewel, counted cross stitch, needle point and French ribbon. In my crochet work, I feel the most freedom, as I do not use classical patterns (as a rule) because I love to create as I go.  I know many of you are the same, and many of you will have patterns to share - just in case.  Right?

Please follow me (upper right of the blog) and share me (bottom of eah blog post) and let's get connected!

WYNTER'S BLANKET THROW

Modified Daisy Pattern with Ruffle Border
Sunny Rowe 2016

I created this throw for my daughter who was moving across country. I used Red Heart 4-Ply in "Pretty In Pink" and "Bon Bon".  I used a size H/8 hook.  I connected the squares with slip stitch on the back side, which can be reversed, giving a shadow box effect.

The finished result is pretty and feminine, yet sturdy enough to handle Wynter's fur babies snuggling with her.

As with all crocheted throws, I suggest having them professionally cleaned, and measured by cleaners (in your presence) prior to cleaning, so that the blocking is correct and not stretched. You may launder yourself, just be sure to do only air fluff on dryer setting, and dry only partially, then lay out to the pre-measured size.

I also like to send a skein of each color with stitch variants and hook size along with the blanket, in case repairs are needed down the road.
